In February 2026, I discovered the wonderful The Greens Guest House in Knysna—and knew immediately that this was a very special place. Since May 2026, I have had the privilege of running this unique guest house as its proud owner, together with my wife Tine and our daughter Elisabeth.
South Africa has been a part of my life for over 15 years. Numerous golf trips have brought me back time and again to this fascinating country, whose natural beauty, hospitality, and zest for life have captivated me from the very beginning. With the acquisition of The Greens Guest House, a long-cherished dream of mine has become a reality.
Golf has been my passion since 1987. For 30 years now, I have been teaching as a PGA Golf Professional in Germany and guiding golfers of all skill levels on their golfing journey. As a PGA Pro and Callaway Staff Ambassador from Munich, I am especially looking forward to supporting our golf-loving guests with my experience and providing them with unforgettable golfing experiences in one of South Africa’s most beautiful regions.
But The Greens Guest House is much more than just a destination for golfers. The Garden Route offers ideal conditions for an active vacation—with stunning hikes through forests and mountains, varied bike tours, beautiful beaches, and water sports on the Knysna Lagoon, such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, or sailing. Whale watching along the coast is also one of the region’s unforgettable experiences. We’d be happy to give you personalized tips and help you plan your activities.
On site, our experienced team ensures that every guest feels welcome from the very first moment. Colleen and Cecil Harding run the guest house with more than 25 years of experience and know Knysna and the Garden Route like the back of their hands. They are supported by Joyce and Stephen, who take care of the well-maintained rooms and a varied, freshly prepared breakfast with great dedication and attention to detail. Together, the team ensures, with warm hospitality and personal dedication, that our guests feel completely at home.
Starting in August 2026, the entire team at The Greens Guest House looks forward to warmly welcoming both our long-time regular guests and many new guests. Our goal is to offer you a place where hospitality, relaxation, and extraordinary nature experiences come together in a unique way—whether you’re traveling to Knysna to play golf, hike, bike, enjoy water sports, or simply to relax.
